The way he walked
About
The Way He Walked is for anyone seeking an authentic, personal encounter with Jesus. These pages invite you to meet the living God of Christianity for yourself, and in doing so, move from knowing about Jesus to truly knowing him in a deep and soul-satisfying way.
Over 21 days, you’ll walk through a simple, yet powerful journey shaped by Jesus’ own invitation to Peter to follow Him. Along the way, you’ll discover four key steps to walking with Jesus:
• Hearing His Invitation — beginning your journey with Him
• Leaving the Past Behind — stepping out of what once held you back
• Learning His Way — walking as Jesus walked
• Leading Others to Him — helping others begin their journey with Jesus
If you’re ready for real change, the changer—Jesus—is ready to meet you. The next 21 days could transform your life. You are officially invited to begin walking with Jesus.

Sean has spoken at many evangelical Churches and conferences, and has been a keynote speaker in the Federal and NSW State Parliaments.
Church Series
Churches from all major Evangelical Denominations in Sydney have committed to running The Way He Walked as either a Church-wide or Life Group series. This includes Churches from The Australian Christian Churches, Sydney Anglicans, Baptist Union, Salvation Army, and non-denominational Evangelical Churches.
The Church wide series and Life Group series builds on the four simple points outlined above to take people on a five-week journey from invitation to mission, with an optional sixth week (on the topic of legacy).
The intention here is to inspire the reader to invite others to Jesus through the local Church. In summary, this book is for people seeking an authentic experience of faith in Jesus (Ephesians 3:19, see day four). The book isn’t designed to teach abstract theological concepts about Christianity, instead, it’s designed to help people personally meet the God of Christianity—Jesus.
Those seeking to use the book as a Church or Life Group series should contact us to arrange a bulk order, which provides the books 60-70% off retail price, via: sean@gcinstitute.org.au or if you know Dr Sean Nolan, feel free to reach out to him personally.
Life Group outlines, Church Series information (including sermon outlines) are included in the back of the book. An overview is included below:
Contents summary
-
The book seeks to move people from a general understanding of who Jesus is and into a living relationship with him.
Achieving this goal begins in section one through introducing the reader to the Father’s love on day two, then the life of Jesus on day three, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit on day four.
These initial three days serve as a “meet and greet” between the reader and God. The next two days cover the Gospel, specifically the invitation to “die to self ” and “rise to new life.”
These two days firstly seek to show the reader that God offers to put to death addictions that are plaguing them or past hurts that are consuming them (John 12:24). It is only through God’s divine power that these things can truly be made “dead” in us and our lives freed from them (Galatians 2:20). Secondly, day six presents God’s offer of resurrection life. Day seven operates as a bridge between sections one and two and discusses Jesus’ invitation to live a purposeful life.
-
Section two invites the reader to walk away from their past through moving away from three key things: partial obedience, comparison to the world and others, and a low view of holiness.
After a day on each of these topics, two days are then spent talking about how hardship orientates us to eternal things, and then how to walk with “a God who allows pain.”
-
Section three takes the reader through the basic ideas associated with following Jesus: belief, repentance, confession, faith, and God’s personal call to each of us. Great care is made in this section to present the Gospel of grace and not moralism, which is all too common nowadays (Philippians 2:13, Galatians 1:6-7).
The change mechanism of the Christian life is God’s love, which is explained through the process of Christ living in us through his Word and Spirit abiding in us (John 15:5-10, Romans 5:5, Hebrews 8:10; 10:15-16, etc). Jesus’ words to Nicodemus in John 3:14- 15 (Numbers 21:9) and Charles Spurgeon’s thoughts on these are used to highlight the change process of the Christian walk.
-
Lastly, in section four the idea of walking others to Jesus is covered. This section does not outline an evangelism and discipleship “system” or “program.” Rather, a day is spent on each of the following areas: the Great Commission, the local Church, leaving a Gospel legacy, and eternity.
